Super Q, Raheny, Dublin

Introduction
Over the past 10 years, Gaelite have enjoyed a close working relationship with Superquinn, dealing with a variety of projects such as the refurbishment of Superquinn in Dundalk – Fergal Quinn’s very first store (1960) – right up to the new purpose built store Superquinn in Limerick.

Background
The Crossroads Project was born out of a need for a service station to provide high quality goods in a forecourt convenience store that encompassed everything from petrol to pastries. It needed to cater for everyone’s requirements, provide high quality fresh foods whilst being value for money, and most importantly – all under the same canopy!

It was the first time a supermarket became involved in forecourt retail in Ireland and the first time that Superquinn products became available outside a Superquinn store. It also replaced the traditional look of a garage making it more user friendly and accessible for people with less time on their hands.

SuperQ in Raheny is the centrepiece of a £1.5 million re-development project being carried out by Texaco. It is the first of its kind and both companies envisage bringing a unique and exciting concept to other outlets in the Texaco network.

A new era had begun and was known as SuperQ.
